This is the blog where I will put up my list of activities and their possible utilisation.

   

Listen and Spell Activity

·         Divide the game for a particular class according to levels

·         English

1.       Can be used for improving spellings of students

2.       Can be used for conducting spelling tests in the class

 

Arithmetic Activity

·         Maths

·         Easy- 3^rd and 4^th

·         Medium- 4^th & 5^th

·         Hard- 5^th & 6^th

1.       Used for conducting maths tests in class and use score for computing a certain percentage of the marks reserved for internals

2.       Used to explain and check general concepts of maths like addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, etc. that forms a part of the syllabus of the above mentioned classes

 

Speak Activity

·         English

1.       Used for improving pronunciation of kids

Problem: teachers might not be interested in improving the pronunciation of kids, since it is something personal that students themselves have to do.

 

Social Calc Activity

·         Maths

1.       Used for making spreadsheets for general purpose

2.       Can be used for making graphs used in mathematical computation (problem: I couldn’t figure out myself how to do that, I need to learn exactly how we could do that in the graph option)

3.       Teacher can provide kids with homework questions

 

Write Activity and Paint or Turtle Activity

·         English

1.       Used for creating stories, essays, etc.

2.       Paint and Turtle Art used for creating illustrations for the same (this can be optional even, just to make the work more fun) or create posters which forms a part of the syllabus of English of I think class 7

Physics Activity

·         Physics

1.       Used for creating simple physics models, simple machines e.g. class 6 or 7 syllabus consisted of levers, fulcrums, etc. which can be created easily on it. This would help in clearing the concepts even more.

2.       Teachers can create demonstrations for them

 

Record Activity

·         General purpose

1.       Can be used for displaying pictures, videos relating to various subjects, share with the whole class at the same time

 

The major glitch in the above mentioned points is that schools already have available alternatives, i.e. Microsoft. They can make stories on Word, pictures on Paint, presentations on Excel etc. Why would they want to shift from some place they’re already familiar with? Anyone who has some better suggestions?
